Personality: Is incredibly intelligent (I.Q. of 300) but prone to tantrums when things don't quite go his way. Incredibly stubborn and hardheaded, never giving up no matter the odds. Basically one of those "borderline insane" people, and something of a hermit when it comes to people skills.
Egg Carrier: Robotnik's personal airship, sort of a "Death Egg MK II". Highlights of the ship include a powerful cannon located near the front of it, a swimming pool, Robotnik's private Chao garden, a robotics development area, and of course a private quarters. Is the place where he is most often found.
E100 series: Robotnik's series of robots built to serve on the Egg Carrier. Six models are currently in existence. Only deployed on board the Egg Carrier and are superior to the average Badnik.
Badniks: Robotnik's private army of robots, deployed at any variety of locations. Currently there are 74 different models in existence, but all are not very formidable.
Egg Walker: Robotnik's most recent weapon, used for going into battle. Standing over 7 ft tall, the Egg Walker is outfitted with a Volkan cannon that contains with both a machine gun and a homing laser. Also equpped with a hovering mechanism and additional titanium armor.
Ivo Robotnik's past is largely unknown, and he isn't talking. What is known is that he is the grandson to Prof. Gerald Robotnik, a leading scientist in his time and the creator of ARK, the world's first space colony. The professor's capture made a large impression on the young Robotnik, and he became obsessed with conquering the world and ruling it as he deemed fit. His family is considerably wealthy, which allowed Robotnik to construct a seemingly endless number of machines. Yet every time he attempted to realize his dream he was defeated, most notably by Sonic the Hedgehog, whom he has a mysterious rivalry with..
Though Robotnik (or, as he came to be known by Sonic and co., the Eggman) never gave up, he eventually decided to pursue his venture through areas other than robotics. Most recently, he attempted to utilize the ancient entity Chaos (which resulted in Station Square being flooded and his previous Egg Carrier being completely demolished) and later his search through his grandfather's research projects which were long past confiscated by this world's version of the C.I.A, an organization called G.U.N. While doing so, he discovered Shadow, the "ultimate life form". For reasons of his own, Shadow helped Robotnik, introducing him to the planet-destroying, Chaos Emerald-powered Eclipse Cannon. An enigmatic treasure-hunter named Rouge offered her services to help as well, and a triumvirate was formed.
Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on whose point of view), the union did not last. Rouge's true identity as a G.U.N. agent was uncovered by Shadow, and Shadow himself realized the truth about his own motives. Though Robotnik still stayed determined to use the Eclipse Cannon, when the monstrosity known as the BioLizard was unleashed and attempted to send the ARK on a crash course to Earth, even Robotnik joined in, helping the others foil it.
In a climatic battle in space, Super Sonic and Hyper Shadow were able to defeat the BioLizard and save Earth. Promptly severing all ties with the group, Robotnik retreated to his newly rebuilt Egg Carrier, where he now resides, no doubt preparing yet another diabolical scheme.
